Griffith University Lightning Talk: Community-Based Collaborative Research

  • Griffith University 176 Messines Ridge Road Mount Gravatt, QLD, 4122 Australia (map)

Hosted by the Griffith Institute for Educational Research (GIER)

We are proud to share that Dr Ruth (Lute) Faleolo has been invited to present on Community-Based Collaborative Research, a timely and important topic for researchers, practitioners, and communities alike.

Dr Faleolo is a respected Pacific researcher whose work is grounded in deep cultural knowledge, lived experience, and a commitment to equity. Locally based and globally engaged, she works across the health and education sectors to explore the holistic wellbeing and collective mobilities of Pacific peoples in Australia.

Her research is distinguished by its collaborative, cross-sector, and community-led nature—centering Pacific voices, values, and knowledges in every step of the research journey. From co-design to implementation, her interdisciplinary projects uplift community aspirations and challenge extractive research practices.

This event, hosted by GIER, is a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue about how we do research with communities—not just on them.

Join us to learn how collaborative, culturally responsive research can transform both academic and community outcomes.
