As members of PARC, we wear many hats within our communities and are leading across various sectors and organisations, serving alongside many individuals, collectives and networks of Pacific and non-Pacific who work with and for Pacific communities in Australia, and across interconnected diaspora in Aotearoa (NZ), United States, and further, including our Pacific Island homelands that we remain connected to.

  • AKO in QLD are a collective of educators from across the primary, secondary, tertiary education sectors who have, since 2023, developed a framework and model for contextualised and holistic learning for Pacific learners in Brisbane.

  • The Australian Pasifika Educators Network (APEN) is a community of Pasifika and non-Pasifika educators, students, and allies committed to advancing equity, representation, and culturally responsive education in Australia.

  • The Te Moana Reference Group presides over matters impacting Pacific Higher Education in Australia and is a subsidiary of the Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Association (EPHEA). Equity practitioners are passionate about equal opportunities for all and are dedicated to disrupting and challenging the systemic and institutional barriers that prevent both staff and students to thrive in the tertiary education sector.

  • Maori and Pacific Island Education Network, Queensland (MPIENQ) Is a not-for-profit network for educators formed as an outcome of the Māori and Pacific Island Network Forum hosted by Woodridge State High School on 17 September 2021. This formalized the ongoing partnerships and progress of various stakeholders who have contributed to raising awareness and improving outcomes for Māori and Pacific Island peoples since 2011.

  • Village Connect and Hosanna Logan City Church are co-located community and faith-based services in Logan that work together to support holistic wellbeing for Pacific and multicultural families. Village Connect offers culturally grounded programs and family support, while Hosanna provides inclusive church services and outreach that promote spiritual growth and community connection. Together, they create a safe and welcoming space grounded in faith, culture, and collective care.

  • The Pasifika & Maori Health & Wellbeing Strategy Governance Group are members of the community churches, organisations, businesses, and stakeholders, including representatives from the BSPHN, MSH, and CHQ who fund the initiatives and programs promoting the Strategy in the Brisbane south region.

  • Fofonga for Pacific Research Excellence’s mission is to grow, develop and nurture Pacific research excellence and Pacific researcher capacity at Waipapa Taumata Rau, the University of Auckland. In developing a sustainable pipeline of Pacific research leadership, Fofonga acts as a landing place, seeding ground and enabler of collaborative Pacific research excellence, capacity building and leadership that meaningfully supports the aspirations and lives of Pacific peoples.

  • The Oceania  EDHUB is set to launch on July 7th  2025, bringing innovative, accessible education to young individuals across the region. This initiative aims to break down barriers to higher education and empower our community with skills in language, literacy, numeracy, and digital competence.

    • UQ Initiatives:

      UQ has a range of programs and initiatives to support the Queensland Commitment, including the Young Achievers Program (YAP), InspireU, and various diversity and inclusion programs. 

    • Long-term Vision:

      The Queensland Commitment is a long-term initiative with a target year of 2032, aiming to create a more equitable and prosperous Queensland through increased access to higher education. 

    • Community Collaboration:

      UQ recognizes the importance of community partnerships and is working with local organizations and leaders in Logan to achieve its goals. 

    • Logan Direct Admissions Scheme:

      Griffith University, also located in the Logan area, has a direct admissions scheme that provides an alternative pathway for mature students to enter university.
