At PARC, we are Pacific-led and purpose-driven. Our research rises from deep relationships and is anchored in the strength of our communities. Each of our values reflects the cultural foundations, collective spirit, and enduring commitment that guide how we work, why we work, and who we work with.

Fortitude.
At PARC, Fortitude means standing firm in our purpose, grounded in the strength of our cultural identities and the resilience of our communities. We are committed to holding space for Pacific ways of knowing, being, and doing—even when facing resistance.
We move with persistence and prayer, focused on truth, service, and the long-term impact of our work. Our resolve is guided by the belief that transformative change is possible when we remain anchored in spirit and united in purpose.

Freedom.
At PARC, Freedom is the ability to define and direct our own research journeys—on our terms, for our communities. We value autonomy in how we navigate research spaces, choosing culturally grounded approaches that honour our Pacific identities.
Our work stays rooted in relevance, responding to the lived realities of our communities and the knowledge systems they uphold. We are committed to producing research outputs that reflect Pacific voices, elevate community stories, and inspire collective action.

Fluidity.
At PARC, Fluidity reflects our ability to move with our communities, not ahead of them. We honour the ebb and flow of Pacific life by embracing adaptable schedules that prioritise balance, wellbeing, and cultural responsibilities.
We value flexible methodologies grounded in co-design—research that listens, evolves, and is shaped in real time with those it serves. Our dynamic processes allow us to engage with diverse partners and funding streams, ensuring our work remains sustainable, responsive, and rooted in collective purpose.

Fellowship.
At PARC, Fellowship is more than an academic title — it’s a relational commitment to one another, to our communities, and to the vā that binds us. We are redefining what a ‘Fellowship’ looks like for Pasifika pracademics by placing Tauhi Vā (nurturing sacred relationships) and Tauhi Tā (honouring time and seasons) at the heart of our academic lives.
Fellowship for us means walking together through shared struggles and collective triumphs. It is about collaborative processes, co-authorship, and co-design — not competition. It is grounded in trust, reciprocity, and a fierce dedication to each other’s mental wealth and wellbeing.
This is Pacific academia — relational, restorative, and revolutionary.
